WHO IS LUCA ROSSI / BEST 10 ARTISTS
“The problem is not allowing people to express themselves, they do it too much; rather it is necessary to provide them with interstices of solitude and silence so that they can finally say something true. ” Gilles Deleuze
Leaving the Italian Pavilion, in the Arsenale complex, exactly as it is now, on February 27, 2020: that is, empty. At the same time, 20 projects will be presented that can happen suddenly anywhere in the world. Nine of these projects are already active and usable, while the other 11 will be implemented through a self-financing campaign on this page:
Projects already active in the world>
…plays… (Varsavia, dal 2011) – Sénanque Abbey Project (Gordes FR, dal 2013) – RAJIM (Giardini della Biennale, dal 2015) – Dolomiti Project (2017) – Thermal Refuge (Porretta Terme, dal 2016) – Utopia/Distopia (Lisbona, dal 2017) – 7800 (realizzato nuovamente nell’estate 2021) – Fake News (Edimburgo, dal 2018) – Black Mirror (Venezia, dal 2019)
An empty exhibition space means going behind the scenes. What do we look for when we enter an exhibition space? Answers, questions, emotions? Leaving an empty pavilion means creating that space of solitude and silence that Gilles Deleuze talks about. In a historical phase in which the communication of the real tends to manipulate and modify the real itself. Leaving the “exhibition space” empty also means dilating this space, making it equal or replaceable to the external spaces; make it clear how each place can be a space for action or use.
